Abbey Meads – The future

As I’m sure many of you will be aware, Tony Pocock and Peter Gibbinson and our team has spent a great deal of time, and together we have and continue, to invest substantially to make Abbey Meads the premier syndicate water in Kent.

The next stage of our plan is to continue the remedial works and then an ongoing stocking programme to augment the existing stock to create a fantastic fishing environment. Our vision is for a mixed fishery (with big tench, pike and potentially roach and rudd) but of course with a focus on carp. We envisage another 100-150 carp to be stocked, and then see how the environment settles down (We also believe some grass carp would help keep weed levels down in the summer) The water is incredibly rich and is more than capable of supporting a much higher biomass than it currently does. In addition we are looking to add to the tench stocks and roach and rudd as mentioned above ...whilst we understand the demand is for carp fishing, my heart always remains as an all round specimen hunter.

Ultimately Abbey Meads will be a big fish water, with a small membership. Have no doubt this will become one of the most sought after tickets in the south east over time; with our knowledge of fisheries and business, coupled with substantial financial resources it will ultimately become the proverbial dead man’s shoes to join!
